Participants will have a fantastic opportunity to support the Orangutans of Tanjung Puting National Park during these difficult times. In early August of 2016 a high state of emergency was declared in West Borneo and the threat of forests being burnt to the ground is imminent once again.The Bornean orangutan (Pongo pygmaeus) is now critically endangered according to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). This change means that both species of orangutan (Bornean and Sumatran) now face an “extremely high risk of extinction in the wild.”
Spend four days connecting with the Orangutans in the heart of their territory and the territory of the heart in the company of Fardi and his Orangutan Houseboat Tours, providing excellent service, guiding, and generous sharing of knowledge and wisdom.
